Report on WAC Air Force School sports Championship 2023 held at Air Force Station Halwara from 21 August 2023 to 22 August 2023

WAC inter Air Force Schools sports championship was organized by HQ WAC, IAF at sports ground Air Force Station, AF School Halwara from 21 August 2023 to 22 August 2023. The event was intended for participation of students and selection of WAC Air Force School. Each event to represent WAC in all India AF School Championship 2023.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Following seven teams participated in the events:

EVENTS

The students of seven schools participated in 4 different track events which are:

1. Chess (Boys)

2. Chess (Girls)

3. Badminton (Boys)

4. Badminton (Girls)

5. Table Tennis (Boys)

6. Table Tennis (Girls)

A contingent of 24 students including 12 boys and 12 girls participated in the above stated events.

POSITION OF AFS JAMMU IN THE EVENT:

Air Force School Jammu bagged 1st position in Chess (Girls),2nd Position in Chess (Boys),Table Tennis 1st Position in(Boys & Girls) and 2nd position badminton(Boys)

Nachle India National Dance session-1

Nayra Mehta of class 1A bagged *1st position* in Nachle India National Dance season- 7 Championship organized by Sports & Cultural Activities Federation India (Jammu) The school is proud of the dance prodigy and wish success in her future endeavours.

AFFWA COMMAND LEVEL ENGLISH DECLAMATION COMPETITION

Vartika Singh of 10 C first participated at Station level (Jammu cantt) and acquired the *first* position.
Next participation was on zonal level (between Udhampur and Jammu) and acquired *first* position.
Further participating at Regional level- (amongst all zones of western air command), It was a proud moment for the school that she once again brought laurels to the school and bagged *first* position with her efforts and streamlined approach.
Another feather was added to our school hat when Vartika finally got selected to represent WAC at inter command level headquarters. Final Competition was held on 23 August 2023 where she displayed her best but could not attain any position. At this level she received a cash prize worth 1000/- and participation certificate. The school is proud of her dedicated and organised efforts. She has set an example for the others to work hard for any success to be attained.

AFFWA QUIZ COMPETITION Station, Regional, Command & Inter Command level

The team won at Zonal level and reached Delhi for the next level. On 9 Aug '23 AFS Jammu team won Second Position in WAC. The team got selected to represent at the next level. In the semi finals on 16 Aug '23, our school team stood First out of 08 teams. On 18 Aug'23, Team AFS Jammu participated in Command Level Final Quiz Competition where WAC bagged Runner Up ( Second ) Position. The competition was tough enough for the participants as the score had minimum margin with the winning and loosing teams. Our team received- A Trophe, 2 books , Certificate and cash prize worth 5000/- each. It was an enlightening and enriching experience for the students.

ANUBHAV- 2023 Geetamrutham(Singing) classes 6-8 ( THEME- WATER)

Darshpreet- of VI standard won THIRD POSITIONIn the online event where two students presented their performance on individual basis. Solo song was presented by Darshpreet of VI class- 'paanipaani re...' She gave a heart touching and melodious performance on karaoka Total 22 schools participated in Anubhav- 2023.

An Inter school Rope Skipping Championship 2023 was organized by KC International School, Jammu in collaboration with Rope Skipping Association Of Jammu & Kashmir on 2nd & 3rd May 2023 at KC International School. Ten students from our school participated in the event escorted by Mr Rajeshwar Dudhwal. It is a proud moment for all of us that five of our participants won the medals.

1) Jaismeen Kour Class 7C Under -12 Event Free style 1 min. Won Bronze medal
2) Aardhaya Singh Class 5C Under -12 Event Freestyle 1 min Won Bronze medal
3) Devansh Sharma Class 3C under -9 event Free style 1 min Won Silver medal

 Bhuvi Sharma from class 5B won a GOLD Medal in the district Roller Hockey Cadet Match.

 Project of Savri Gupta and Ipshita from class VIII B on ‘The Coming Pandemic- Antibiotic Resistance’ has got selected for the state-level Competition.

 Drubika and Rakshita Kapoor from class 9A participated in the team one’s project on ‘Menstrual cramps’ got selected for the state-level Competition.

 Chiranjeev Singh from class 11 participated in Inter-Zonal District Level Athletic Meet and won Silver Medal in Boys U-17 100-meter race.

 A team of nine students participated in a Youth Policy Dialogue by the Indian Principal's Network (IPN) held at Jodhamal Public School, Jammu on the 29th & 30th of October '22.

In Concord, various committees were focusing on present-day issues with due weightage to the stance of the youth. The three students won recognition.

 A delegation of 10 students participated in the recent MUN and engaged themselves in rousing debates on international politics, humanitarian causes and much more in an intellectual discourse of  Erudite Model United Nations 2022  by 10 Lives Education at International Delhi Public School, Bhathindi. Organised on 5,6,7 August 2022, it was a real session to debate, learn, display, and build the interpersonal skills of the students. Air Force School, Jammu participated for the first time in an offline MUN and the students made it a memorable event by giving their best.

 Shivansh Panotra of class 7C has been selected to represent J & K state in the Badminton XD U15 category tournament to be held in Orissa during 26-30 Dec 2022.

 Anushka Kumari of class 9A has won gold medal in Kata and Silver medal in Kumite organised by Monsoon open cup karate championship 2022.

 Akshara Sharma of class 8B has won bronze medal at District championship Aerobics Gymnastics organized by Gymnastic Association.

  Aditya Narain Singh of class 8A has got the third position and got further selected to the State level of VVM 2022..

Kavish Sharma participated in ‘Craft- Best Out of Waste’ “confluence 2022” held at Army Public School Damana under the agis of “Hubs of Learning” on 4 Nov 2022 and has bagged 3rd position.

Two students Preet and Havesh from class 4B participated in a karate competition hosted by J K Public School Jammu on 13-Sep-2022. Both of them got the second prize.

Meera Ashish Tawade from class 3C won District and State roller skating championship 2022-23. She participated in “Speed- Inline” event (1000 mt , 500 mt and 200 mt race) where she bagged 2 Gold medals at district and 3 Gold Medals at State level event.She will be representing J & K State at national Roller Skate championship at Bangalore in the December month. Skating sport required ‘agility’, balance, strength and stamina. Meera daily practices 2-3 hours to develop specialized skating skills and aims to bag National Gold medal in upcoming tournament.

MUN

The recent MUN engaged our school delegates in rousing debates on international politics, humanitarian causes and much more in an intellectual discourse of *Erudite Model United Nations 2022* by 10 Lives Education at International Delhi Public School, Bhathindi. Organised on 5,6,7 August 2022, it was a real session to debate, learn, display and build interpersonal skills of the students. Air Force School, Jammu participated for the first time in an offline MUN and the students made it a memorable event by giving their best. The students built connections by interacting with all delegates, organizers, speakers, and chairs, expanding their network and opportunities.
A delegation of 10 students led by the Teacher Coordinator Ms Kusum Rakwal took part in the three day long session of making of the delegates of different committees .

ARJUN VEER SINGH of class 7A won third prize in International Poetry award- Grow Your Buds Poetry Rendion Contest for his poem on Killer Corona and Rising Teen Suicide organised by Motivational Strips- the world’s most active writer’s forum and reputed educational trust- Soundariya Educational Trust.(International platform)

AKARSHIT BANSOTRA of class 9A won gold medal in Open J&K UT Qwankido Championship- 2022 organised by Qwan Ki Do association of J&K.

Hitaishi Rakwal of class 4B won the consolation prize in theme based painting organised by Jodhamal School Jammu under the banner of Sahodaya Schools Complex.
